Vé (2009) recruitment.

We are looking for motivated team members who can contribute their skills and talents to this project.

This is an independent project.

The hope is that the Vé project can be an excellent springboard for aspiring film technicians,  stunt enactors and actors; Anybody that wants the experience of working on a 35mm film project in beautiful Norway.

To minimise the production beauracracy, we are also asking participants to take at least two roles: For example, an actor would also be asked to take a technical role in i.e: film loading, or a fight / stunt enactor would be asked to take a cameo role in front of the camera. Until we meet you, we don't know what you are good for.

We wish to "spread the load" and the technical and operational knowledge during production, as well as build a team that can truly work well together- You might even be asked to take a turn behind the camera itself (as long as you know what you're doing - and this is the place to learn).

Our rather ambitious goal is to turn this project into a long-term made-for-tv-series. We can only do that if the combined team effort is solid enough to produce a professional result, and if the team can work intelligently and well enough together.

The Teams.

We  have defined 4 teams where skills are needed:

Technical Crew: Camera and behind-the-scenes.

Artisan Crew: Acting,Costumes, Makeup and all that goes with it.

Stunt Crew: Fight scenes, swords and bloody mayhem.

Production Crew: Writing,Promotion and advertisng: everything behind the behind-the-scenes - including getting us out to the world.

Other:

You should be based in or around the Oslo, Norway area.

Funding

Vé is a privately funded project, aiming to develop a "pilot" film of some 30 minutes length, as well as one or two short internet features, including a "making of".

We shall be seeking financial assistance from Norwegian and European film institutes, once the project has developed to an acceptable level of maturity.

Currently Vé is an amateur and independent film  project.

This means that financial incentive will initially be minimal.

Simply: Before we have fundiing, we don't want to pay you - we would prefer to draw skills from the huge and talented amateur workforce in Norway.

However: We will pay you if yours is a skill that cannot be easily obtained from our amateur resources.

Principals and higher-skilled technicans can expect to see direct financial recompense for their efforts.

However: until funding has been established, all financial questions must be taken on a strictly one-to-one basis with the production team.

What's in it for me?

How about: A highly rewarding role on a creative film-making team: dedicated to bringing a great story to the world.

If your interests are film-making, acting, all things viking, medieval reenactment, the supernatural, medieval history, travelling to exotic places or just plain hanging out with creative people, then this is the project for you!

All participants will be given full credit for effort on the completed project, including full listing on all web-based and broadcast material.

All participants shall be given one finished digital copy of the final production.

Skilled participants shall be paid nominal sums, should said skills bring unique value to the project.

The future.

The ultimate goal is to have Vé stand on its own as a straight-to-tv-series project.

All participants will be offered continuation contracts, should the project lead to further work.

These contracts shall be defined and agreed upon prior to project initilisation, with buy out / opt-out clauses subject to full legal approval and disclosure.

Note: The final project is not expected to yield a direct profit, unless bought or sponsered directly for distrubution. However: A fair-distribution contract shall be drawn up for such an eventuality, in which case all participants shall be given fair share of all generated net profits.

The fair distribution contract shall be drawn up and agreed upon by representatives of the 4 teams: Technical, Artisan, Stunt, Production, and the Director.

NOTICE OF FAIR INTENT:

We aren't going to make you sign anything you don't understand.

We won't offer you money you will never see, or make you any promise we can't keep.

We will write contracts that ensure that should any profit or opportunities develop as a result of this project, then you won't be left out.

You will have first option on the roles you have participated in.
